Is characterized by excessive, uncontrollable, irrational worry about the future. This worry interferes with daily functioning. Individuals with GAD are preoccupied with medical problems, financial concerns, death, family issues and work problems. Presenting physical symptoms including headaches, tiredness, fidgeting, headaches, numbness in hands and feet, muscle tension, difficulty swallowing, digestive issues, breathing problems, inattention issues, trembling, irritability, sweating, restlessness, insomnia, hot flashes and rashes.
